Vintage Jackpot Charley 25-cent Gambling Punch Board; Never-Used Saloon Tavern Bar Gaming

Sorry, this item has sold.

We recently discovered some unused gambling punch boards from the 1940s-1950s in very good condition. Punch boards were most commonly found in taverns and bars but also used in some stores, they were meant to serve as trade stimulators. Usually they allowed the player a chance to win some sort of product typically sold at that establishment but some places quietly paid out cash. It was even possible to win a pack of cigarettes! With this board, 25 cents bought you one punch of the little silver dots. Out of each hole came a piece of rolled up paper with a number on it. If the number matched one of the winning numbers printed at the top of the punch board, you won! If the number matched one of the 6 winning numbers in the Jackpot section, a bigger prize was won! These particular "Jackpot Charley" or "Texas Charley" boards each have 170 winners. They measure 9 inches long, 10 1/2 inches high, and 7/8 inch thick. All of the punches on these are intact and have not been used. Even the original metal punch tool is still sealed in place on the back of each. They have bright, vivid colors and are free of fading, Only some minor signs of age. $25 each.
