Warehouse Find! Never-used vintage 1940s punchboard in excellent condition! These were found in shops and bars and used as trade stimulators. A customer would pay a a small price to punch a hole, hoping to win a prize. This particular punchboard is called "Best Hand" and is priced 25 cents per punch.
While some boards offered cash prizes, this one paid off in cigarettes! Inside the holes are tiny slips of paper with poker hands. If the paper had one of the winning hands shown on the advertising portion of the punchboard (pair of Jacks or better), a quantity of cigarettes was won. This punchboard is very well preserved and no holes have been punched. In fact, the metal punch piece is still sealed in the the back.
It measures 11 3/8" high by 8" wide by 1 1/4" thick. It displays wonderfully and is a cool, old, gambling piece! A nice deal for just $24! Bright, crisp, vivid colors with only very minor wear from decades of storage. You won't be disappointed!
