Vintage 1920s Maytag Multi-Motor Washer Fuel Mixing Can; Original Old Advertising Tin

Sorry, this item has sold.

Here's an original, vintage 1920s Maytag fuel mixing can in good, as-found condition. Believe it or not, Maytag used to manufacture gasoline engine powered wringer washing machines in the early 1920s! Everyone of them came with one of these cans to mix the oil and gasoline to properly power them! This one is in good shape, isn't rusty or have any holes. The graphics show some age but aren't faded and have good color. The front features Maytag's logo along with lettering of the company's location. The back has instructions that read:

"First pour one small measuring cup of MAYTAG Special Multi-Motor Oil into can, which will bring it to upper ring with CLEAN standard (not high test) gasoline and fill base of engine with mixture this obtained."

The white backgrounds of the graphics show some staining. The handle, spout, and seam of the tin can have original factory soldering, a typical manufacturing process at the time. The back of the can has some small dings but overall, this is a nice, period advertising piece. It displays well and is a scarce collectible!
