Very nice, early 1900s child's school reader in very good, well preserved condition! From the Expressive Readers series, this is a "Second Reader", copyright 1911 by American Book Company. It's by James Baldwin, a well-known author of various readers such as "School Reading By Grades, Baldwin's Readers, and Harper's Readers". The book was cowritten by Ida Bender, a Supervisor of Primary Grades in Buffalo, NY. Wonderfully illustrated, this reader is loaded with wonderful, period content including tales, nursery rhymes, stories, poetry, word studies, and riddles. 176 pages in all! Very clean inside and out, all pages are complete. No writing or torn pages; the binding is tight and the spine and covers are in good shape! It's a very nice reader for just $18!
