Antique Cast Iron Deering Tractor Seat D-267

Here's an authentic, antique, cast iron, Deering tractor seat in as-found condition. We discovered this recently while picking antiques in an old barn here in Western New York. It dates back to the 1890s and is has the marking "D-267" on the underside. This seat measures 18 inches long and 14 1/2 inches wide; it weighs nearly 11 pounds. The top side has old light blue paint with some surface rust peaking through in some places. The "Deering" lettering in in old yellow paint. This seat has some old welded repairs that aren't readily apparent unless turned upside down.

This is an early piece. Deering Harvester Company was founded in 1874 by William Deering. In 1902, Deering and several other manufacturers merged to create the International Harvester Company. This seat is a great-looking relic that displays well and would look great on the wall of a man cave! It's the real deal, not one of those reproductions being sold here on Etsy. Solid, sturdy, and strong, this seat is amazingly durable.
