Warehouse Find! Never-used vintage 1960s punchboard in very good condition! These were found in shops and bars and used as trade stimulators. A customer would pay a small price to punch a hole, hoping to win a prize. This particular punchboard is called "Three Sure Hits", and the price per punch is marked as 5 cents.
While some boards offered merchandise, cash, candy, etc. for prizes, this one paid off in cigarettes! There are 2000 tiny holes, each containing a tiny slip of paper with a number printed on it. If the paper had one of the winning numbers shown on the advertising portion of the punchboard, another punch was won in the Jackpot section that contains 30 larger holes. Each of the Jackpot holes contains a slip of paper that specifies a prize! The prizes were 100, 60, or 40 cigarettes OR one of 3 Grand Prizes that would be indicated at the top of the punchboard by the establishment's owner. Those spaces on the board are blank because this punchboard was never used.
Even though it's more than 60 years old, it is very well preserved. As mentioned, it's never been used and even the metal punches are still sealed in the back. It measures 13 1/2" high by 9 3/8" wide by 1" thick. It has nice graphics and vivid colors. There is minor "shelf wear on a couple corners and two tiny holes were lightly punctured but not completely punched. The slips of paper are still inside. It displays wonderfully and is a cool, old, gambling piece! A nice deal for just $22! Bright, crisp, thick and solid; it weighs over 3 pounds! You won't be disappointed!
