Antique Country Primitive Staved Wooden Cask, Small Barrel, Keg, Wine Vessel in Old Paint

Sorry, this item has sold.

Here's a very nice, primitive wooden cask in very good shape! This small, 19th Century piece is some sort of staved wooden vessel that might have been used as a canteen, or small wine barrel. The ends are hand carved, with one containing an opening that likely had a wooden stopper at one time. The staves are banded in iron to keep it tight and secure. The entire piece is in old paint. It stands just 10 1/2 inches high with its midsection measuring 7 1/2 inches. Each end has a 6-inch diameter while the opening is 7/8 inch. This little, old barrel is quite charming given its petite size! It shows age and wear like a nice primitive piece should. Solid, sound, and rugged, it's a delightful, old cask that will display wonderfully, wherever it is placed!
