Found in storage! This never-used vintage 1930s punchboard in very good condition! Punchboards were usually found in shops, fraternal organizations, social clubs and bars and were used as trade stimulators. A customer would pay a small price to punch a hole, hoping to win a prize. This particular punchboard is called "Five on One" and is priced 25 cents per punch. This board has 240 holes and brought in $62.50 total. Payout adds up to $35.00 so total profit for the proprietor was $27.50.
Inside each of the holes is a tiny slip of paper with 5 numbers printed on it. On this board it was possible to win more than one prize with one punch since multiple numbers were on the slips. The winning numbers are on the front of the punchboard; prizes ranged from 50 cents up to $5.00. It's well-preserved and no holes have been punched. The metal punch tool is included. The board measures 10 3/4" high by 10 7/8" wide by 3/4" thick. It displays wonderfully and is a cool, old, gambling piece! A nice deal for just $22! Bright colors with some minor shelf wear from decades of storage. Some cellophane on the edges has flaked off over the years but doesn't affect the structural integrity. A great piece of ephemera!
