Outstanding, hand-carved wooden breadboards in as-found, untouched condition! Rich, warm coloring and wonderful wear patterns make each of these a one-of-a-kind, 19th Century piece. The dimensions vary a bit depending on where they are taken due to their primitive nature. These make wonderful wall decorations for country kitchens and can also serve as part of a centerpiece on farm tables. It's important to note that these are original, antique boards that were hand made for use as kitchen boards, whether they be bread or cheese. They are NOT newly made from old wood and/or artificially aged.
From left to right in the first photo:
Board #1 measures 15 1/4 inches in total length, including handle. It is 12 7/8 inches at its widest.
Board #2 is 17 inches long including the handle; it is 11 7/8 inches at its largest diameter.
Board #3 measures 15 1/2 inches long, with the handle, and 12 5/8 inches at its widest.
Board #4 is 19 5/8 inches long, including handle. It measures 13 1/8 inches wide.
These truly gorgeous breadboards derive their beauty not only from their primitive handmade origin, but also because of stains, grooves, tight cracks, blackening, and grunge. Every sign of age and use tells a story. We are offering these for wall and table decor and don't recommend use or direct contact with food unless cleaned and treated with mineral oil first. You won't be disappointed in these! They are hard to find and won't last long! $110 each.
