Antique European Peg Leg Wind-Up Mechanical Alarm Clock; 1920s German, distressed primitive look, decorative, Lithuania

Sorry, this item has sold.

Here's a great-looking, antique, peg leg alarm clock we found while visiting Lithuania! We believe it is German made but has the Lithuanian phrase “Pirmos rūšies“ on the face, which translate to "First Rate". While Germany did occupy Lithuania for much of World War 2, this clock is older than that and is typical of alarm clocks produced for the Eastern European and Russian markets in the 20s and 30s. Its legs appear to be made of brass. It shows plenty of age with minor surface rust on small portions of the alarm bell and on the case. The glass in front of the dial is still there. The age flaws add to its charm and appearance for use as a decorative piece. The knobs and winding keys are missing but the movement still ticks a little when shaken. Approx. 6 1/2" high, total diameter of 5", and face diameter 3 3/4". There's certainly not many of these clocks around! Wouldn't it look great among your antiques or on a shelf with other interesting decor?! First $45 gets it!
