Here's our best primitive find of the year so far! This is a fabulous, old, country kitchen wall rack in untouched, as-found condition (we haven't even cleaned it!). It has three shelves for storage or display and three drawers that held spices. At the bottom of the rack is a covered box of sorts; perhaps once used as a small breadbox. This piece is in old, green paint in the front with old reddish-brown paint on the sides and back. There is some older, blue paint peeking through in a few places. At the top, in front of the highest shelf, there are a pair of handcrafted wooden birds for a touch of whimsy! Each drawer has grungy, little handmade wooden pulls that probably got dirty from somebody pulling them open with dirty fingers from grabbing a pinch of some of the spices! Pulled right off the wall where it was found, this outstanding primitive piece measures 17 3/4 inches tall, 10 3/4 inches long, and 7 inches wide. Of course, given the nature of handmade, early items, measurements vary a bit depending on where they are taken. This is a very sturdy item that is free from rot, woodworms, and termites. Absolutely no plywood in this piece! It is in very good condition and will add loads of character wherever it is displayed, whether you hang it or put it on counter or table. Guaranteed 100 percent old and original; you won't be disappointed in this one-of-a-kind primitive piece!
