Antique Country Primitive Carved Wooden Scoop, Ladle, Mortar

$85.00

Here's one of the most primitive wooden pieces we have had in a while! This hand carved piece could have had several different uses. It is hand-hewn and carved and looks very much like a grain scoop or even a ladle. It's interior depth and thickness also could lend itself well as to being a mortar. It has a folksy, carved handle, thick walls and lots of carving marks where it was dished out. It was found stashed away in an old, dirt-floor cellar and is just as we discovered it: dusty, dirty, and grungy. The surface is completely untouched and unaltered. It's made from a single chunk of wood and measures 8 7/8 inches long, including the handle. It is 5 inches at its widest and is 2 1/2 inches deep. Delightfully rustic and guaranteed old and original. You won't be disappointed in this!
