We discovered some very nice, old seed packets from Ferry-Morse Seed Co. that were never opened and still containing seeds! Ferry Seeds originated in 1856 and had locations in Detroit and San Francisco when these packets were produced. Each of these packets is marked "Packed for season 1952" and all of them are full. Each packet has a beautiful, lithographed image on the front, in sharp vibrant colors. Three of them are marked '10 cents' and two are priced at "15" cents; all of them have descriptions and directions on the backs. They are clean and well-preserved, none are torn or have ever gotten wet. Available varieties: Cucumber (National Pickling), Beet (Early Blood Turnip), Muskmelon (Honey Rock Cantaloupe), Onion (Evergreen Bunching), and Squash (Summer Crookneck). These are difficult to find new old stock seeds still in their original packaging. Not only are they great for collectors of seed packets; they are an opportunity to try to germinate and grow actual vegetables from 1952! It is possible and some folks have documented their success on YouTube. Old, heritage varieties are better tasting than the genetically engineered products from today's seeds. Many varieties have been lost over the year as well. Imagine the fun of growing something from the past! These packets have been stored in cool, dry conditions. They are in excellent condition! Don't miss out!
