Vintage Gulflube Motor Oil 1-quart can 1940s-50s

Here's an authentic vintage Gulflube Motor Oil 1-quart can from the Gulf Oil Corporation. It dates back to the late forties to early fifties and features the iconic orange disc logo and the signature blue and white checkerboard pattern and orange stripes. The phrase "Tamper-Proof" was heavily used during this post-WWII period to reassure consumers that regional gas stations had not diluted the oil. It's a full metal soldering-seam can that has a patch of paint loss measuring 1-inch wide and 4 1/4 inches high. There are some small dings and dents that border the top and bottom edges of the can and very light surface rust in a couple spots. There are no rust holes or other significant damage. The colors are bright and the graphics are crisp. Someone punched a couple holes in the bottom to drain the oil. Despite its issues, it still displays well and would look nice with other oil can displayed on a shelf.
