We found some very nice, old seed packets and boxes that were never opened, still containing the seeds! This group includes seeds from Ferry's Seeds of Detroit & San Francisco, Sterling Seed Co. of Minneapolis, and Hygrade Seed Co. of Fredonia, NY.

Each of these 1940s/1950s vintage packages has a colorful, detailed, lithographed image on the front. Prices on them range between 5 cents to 20 cents; all of them have descriptions and directions on the backs. The boxes are loaded and heavy!

These packets are clean and none are torn or have ever gotten wet. They show a little age but all present very well. Available varieties: Sterling-Giant Stringless Green Beans; Ferry's-Telephone Peas (Dark Podded); Ferry's-Golden Bantam Sweet Corn; Hygrade-Crosby's Egyptian Beets (2).

These new old stock seeds are difficult to find, especially still in their original packaging. They are great for collectors of seed packets, but they are also an opportunity to try and germinate and grow actual vegetables from the 1940s and 1950s! It is possible and some folks have documented their success while providing instructions on how to do it on YouTube. Old, varieties often look better than the genetically engineered products from today's seeds. Many varieties have been lost over the years as well. Imagine the fun of growing something from the past! These packets have been stored in cool, dry conditions. They are in excellent condition! Whether you buy one or all of them, shipping cost is the same.
