Here’s another assortment of 7 brightly colored antique French flower seed packets, all beautiful and ready for display. These are preserved examples of historical garden ephemera, dating from the 1930s. They are different from American seed packets as the vibrant, layered, and highly stylized illustrations were printed using traditional chromolithography as labels that were affixed to small envelopes. This historic multi-color printing technique was widely used before modern photographic packaging became standard. These empty paper packets are warehouse finds of left-over inventory that was never filled with actual seeds. The top borders feature vintage typography displaying the French common name and plant classification and sometimes English variants. Five of them measure 5 1/4” high by 1 7/8” wide. They show some age, but all are in good condition! These are great for junk journaling, scrapbooking, crafts, and decor. They look especially nice framed and matted. $16 set.
