Antique Staved Wooden Country Butter Churn with Iron Bands; Old Primitive Churner, Rustic, Naive, 19th Century

$195.00

Here's a tall, thin, authentic, 19th century, wooden butter churn in very good, well-preserved condition! It's made of pine and has forged iron bands that keep the staves tight and secure. It has a gorgeous, old patina with detailed graining and comes complete with wooden splash cover and dasher. It has a raised stave/piggin that looks charming and is great for carrying and for keeping the cover in place. There's also a drain hole close to the bottom where a wooden stopper or cork once was placed.

Overall, this churn stands 38 1/4 inches high, including the dasher stick; without it, it stands 27 inches tall. At the top, the churn has a 4 5/8-inch diameter and then widens out to a 7-inch diameter at the bottom. It's solid, sturdy and strong; there are no problems with woodworms, termites, or dry rot. As mentioned, this churn has an original, dry, untouched patina; nothing has been applied to the surface to enhance its appearance
Hidden away in a barn for generations, it still a bit dusty and dirty, yet unspoiled and perfect for display! Tall, narrow, and unique, don't miss out on this one!
