Antique Primitive Carved Wooden Spice Box; 1-Piece Hewn Container with Swinging Cover

This is a very primitive, wooden, spice or salt box with a swinging cover. It has two compartments with thick walls that were gouged out of a single piece of wood. This piece dates to the 19th Century and has a wonderful, old patina with coloring and fabulous graining. It shows age and wear from past use but is in very good condition. It's a very solid and rugged box that's well-preserved and rather unique. It measures 10 3/4" long, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 4 inches high. There are no problems with woodworms, termites, or dry rot.
