Here's a darling Easter assortment that's bound to become family heirlooms! Included are 5 Easter egg candles made by the Tavern Candle Company, a division of the Socony Vacuum Oil Company of Buffalo, New York. Later known as the Gurley Candle Company, which was well-know for seasonal, figural candles. In addition to the egg-shaped candles, a bunny and duck candle are also included (the duck's bill looks a little flattened}. Finally, this lot also comes with an old, lithographed tin Easter basket that is in excellent condition. It has vivid colors with fancily dressed women and a man on the sides along with a wicker-like background. The basket is marked: "Made in US of America" and is 6 inches tall with a 5 inch diameter. Each of the egg-shaped candles is about 2 1/2" tall, while the duck and rabbit are around 3" tall. All candles have never been lit and date back to the early 1940s. All items sell together for the bargain price of $36.00
