6 different authentic World War 1 pins from an estate in good to very good condition. Included are pins represent Liberty Loans, War Savings Service, War Savings Stamps, and relatives In Service.
A Liberty Bond/Loan was a war bond that was sold in the United States to support the Allied cause in World War I. The W.S.S. buttons were security service/stamps sold to help support American participation in the war effort. These buttons were worn by Americans to show off their contributions to the war effort and to spur others to help the country as well. They are small symbols of patriotic duty that also introduced the idea of financial securities to many citizens for the first time. There are two "In Service" pins that were worn by relatives of servicemen in the war.
These pins are in good shape and could use a little cleaning. They have nice graphics and vivid colors; a couple have just a little aging or wear. One has light rust on the back. All display well and have bright colors. Overall, they are well-preserved for being more than a hundred years old! It's a great opportunity to own WW I-related artifacts for just $26!
