Late 18th, Early 19th Century Iron Strap Hinge; Blacksmith Forged, Hand Wrought

Here's an early example of a forged iron strap hinge that we salvaged from an old, primitive cupboard that was beyond repair. It was used to hinge a large door to the front of an early country cupboard t that dated somewhere between the late 1700s to the early 1800s. It was hand wrought by a blacksmith and well preserved. The entire span measures 26 inches long when fully opened. The longer side is 14 inches while the other side is 12 3/4 inches long, including the knuckle. The widest portion measure 1 3/4 inches or so. Of course, the dimensions vary a bit depending on where they are taken due to the primitive, handmade nature of this hinge. It is still functional and is ready to be installed on anything that needs an early iron hinge. If you are doing a period restoration, go with an original piece instead of a reproduction!
