Here's a fabulous-looking antique, wooden, tool carrier that's fresh to the market and just as we found it! Direct from an old barn, it was discovered hidden away just a few days before listing it here! It has that original, dusty, dry patina that we have not oiled, waxed, stained or otherwise altered. It's 100 percent original with wonderful wear patterns and coloring.
This caddy measures 19 inches long, 12 inches wide, and about 4 3/4 inches high. It was constructed with square nails so it dates to the 19th Century. There is a 3 1/2" by 1" piece missing at the top of one side adjacent to an end; it may possibly have been removed to allow a larger tool to fit. However, whatever the reason for it, the patina is just as smooth as the rest of the wood, indicating it has been that way for a very long time.
This piece is structurally sound and still very strong. It's made of planks, there's no plywood in this! The bottom is original and there are no soft spots, rot, or deterioration. It has a great, primitive-look and looks even more charming when filled with wooden implements like the ones shown in a couple of our photos (not included). This is a true antique that will beautify any space it's displayed in!
