Antique Wooden Crate End Sign: Franklin Sugar Co. Philadelphia; Primitive, Rustic, Farmhouse

Sorry, this item has sold.

Here's a great-looking item to decorate your home! This is a the end of a vintage crate that once was used to ship boxes of granulated sugar! It's been fashioned into a sign and is ready to be hung! We found the original Franklin Sugar Co. crate in the barn of a four generation farm. Dating back to about 1915, the crate was damaged so we made signs out of the sides that were in good shape. This one reads the following:

"60 - 2 lb Cartons EXTRA FINE Granulated Sugar MF"D FOR FRANKLIN SUGAR REFINING COMPANY PHILADELPHIA"

Self-framed and made of planks, this is a rugged, well-built piece. The graphics are black and very clear and readable. The wood has wonderful graining, a very nice patina, and rich warm coloring. It measures 14 3/4 inches long, 13 1/2 inches high, and 1 1/4 inches thick. It's a wonderfully preserved item that has been repurposed and will look great displayed almost anywhere!
